Speed
Dating at Matrix Club in South Harrow on 23 July

Majority
of feedback from this event has been
encouraging. Around 150 tickets were sold
and around 125 people took part on the day. In
addition, we had to say NO to at least another 25
people who wanted to book after the cutoff date
because we were sold out. Candidates
arrived and registered from 11.45. This was then
followed by first round of speed dating which was
divided into 4 age groups. Following, short break
second round of speed dating took place which had 3
groups. The second round was designed such that
people donot meet any of the people they have already
met in the first round, hence older and younger ages
in each groups. The speed datings were about
1 hour 15minutes each. Final hour was for mingling
and biting.
During
the speed datings people had forms to tick indicating
who they liked and want their details to be passed
onto after meeting the candidates for 3 minutes.
These forms were analysed and all present
were contacted by emails by 15 August. Even people
who registered and have zero matches will
be sent a blank email. Therefore if you donot
receive an email by 15 August then please contact
Rumit, Minaben or Rameshbhai and we we will give
you the details over the phone or resend the
email. It is very important you receive these
results and progress the discussions and arrange
further meetings.
Speed Dating Event at Tycoon on
Sunday 8 May 2005 –post
event report
Oshwal Singles club had another successful speed
dating event on 8 May at Tycoon.
104
people took part and boys and girls numbers were almost
equal. People started registering from 2.30pm.
Speed dating started at 3pm which was divided into three age groups and
lasted about 1hr 15min. Around 1hr was then given to mingling
and biting.
Dinner & Dance
at Tycoon, 26 February 2005
There was an excellent Dinner & Dance
event at Tycoon for which 85 people attended. Another 25 people
wanted to come but had to be turned away due to the capacity
limit of the venue. The event started at 7pm with registration
and speed dating which lasted for about 1 hour 30 minutes in
which almost everyone took part. Three course meal followed
and mingling and Dance took place. The Oshwal event finished
at 11:00pm but many people continued with the dance until 12:30am
.
Due to the large response, we will be organising
a similar event again with larger capacity. Please purchase
your tickets early for the future events we organise instead
of leaving it to the last few days. This will help us to secure
larger capacities with confidence.

Diwali & New
Year’s Disco Dandia, 13
November 2004
About
80 people gathered at Oshwal House for this event. The event
started just after 7pm with speed dating for one hour in
which about 50 Singles took part. Following this, almost
everyone joined in the Disco Dandia which was followed by
refreshments. Bhangra, Garba and Ranjanu followed. During
the event many singles took the opportunity to mingle with
others.
The
feedback from the event has been positive and we hope to
organise a similar event next year. Further feedback is welcomed
to help us further improve our future events. Some people
wanted the speed dating to be even longer. We are considering
holding an event with speed dating only in the future.
The
Committee is now working on the next events which are likely
to be Dinner and Dance at the Mehfil Club in Hendon on 26
February and then Picnic in June/July 2005. Further details
will be published once the events have been finalised. Until
then you can continue to meet your prospective partners through
the database by contacting Minaben. We have had about 40
enquires for information from the database list since September
2004.

Singles Gathering Sunday 5 September 2004

to 3pm at Oshwal House
Oshwal Singles club had a very successful first event under the new committee
on 5 Sept which was enjoyed by all. After registration, everyone had the chance
to introduce themselves to the whole group. This was followed by discussion
on what events members wanted the Committee to organise this year. The committee
promised to deliver some of these events.
Lunch and mingling was enjoyed in the warm sunshine. This was followed by Speed
Dating where all members had the chance to chat to all others for 2minutes
each. This proved very popular and will be used in future events. Some members
complained the 2minutes was not sufficient and the event should have been longer.
After the event most member stayed and continued to mingle informally.
